As always, Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan welcome the UFC audience to this special hour long preliminary card broadcast. WINNER: Romero via submission at 3:05 of the second round
STAR RATING: (***-) They got really gassed out, but Romero's a tough guy and took a ton of punishment from Petruzelli before getting into that position at the end of the fight. Petruzelli was far too gassed after the first round, and his inability to finish the fight cost him. Romero's submission comeback was a nice cap to the story of the fight, and an excellent start to the night's card.

STAR RATING: (**+) That was a very even fight for much of it's duration, but Branch made a huge miscalculation trying to jump guard there. He almost had his leg up over Harris' shoulder to lock in that triangle, but Harris smartly dropped him right down. It was great to see him hold off on throwing another punch as well.

STAR RATING: (**+) Good fight. Not quite the spectacular clash I was hoping for, but Sotiropolous looked really good and Pellegrino finished in a nice flurry with that big knee. It was much too little, too late for him, however, and Pellegrino took the win.
RAMIFICATIONS: Sotiropolous is now probably a fight away from a Lightweight Title shot. He'll take one more fight and likely get the next shot after the winner of Kenny Florian vs. Gray Maynard at UFC 118. That was another impressive win to put him at 6-0 in the UFC.

STAR RATING: (***) That was a really fun brawl, the type that Bonnar is pretty much known for. He fared much better than expected in the exchanges, and he was much more aggressive. That was a really big win for him.
RAMIFICATIONS: Bonnar keeps his job, and Soszynski gets stopped for the first time in the UFC. He'll head down the ladder, and Bonnar earns his keep for awhile longer. That was definitely a good fight, though.

He may have lost that last round had it gone to the scorecards, but he pulled out the submission in shocking fashion. That was just an amazing fight.
RAMIFICATIONS: Leben should get the fight with Silva when he can return, and Akiyama won over a ton of fans with that performance. He'll be better his next time out, and hopefully it will come much sooner than this second fight came for him.

He said he stands before the fans as a humble Champion, and he's still the toughest s.o.b. around. He said he just needed to weather the storm. He said each shot was less dramatic than the other. Carwin was then interviewed, he said Brock was a tough son of a bitch and took those shots like no one else.
STAR RATING: (****) That lived up to the hype in every way. Lesnar proved he can take punches, and he came back and showed why he's a great wrestler and a great fighter. That was a great transition to the arm triangle and then he tightened it up even further. That was incredible.
