Another summer card has had the injury bug shake things up for the UFC, as the organization on Tuesday announced that Rani Yahya has been forced out of his UFC 131 bout with Dustin Poirier due to an undisclosed injury.
In his place steps UFC newcomer Jason Young, an 8-3 British professional and veteran of the UK's Cage Rage organization.
Poirier comes into the June 11 event on the heels of a breakout performance in his UFC debut at UFC125 on New Year's Day. Taking on Josh Grispi - who was originally supposed to challenge Jose Aldo for the UFC Featherweight Championship on the card - Poirier battered "The Fluke" through three rounds to take a dominating and impressive unanimous decision.
Young enters the UFC on a 4-1 run, the one loss coming to another recent UFC signee in Paul Sass.
UFC 131 is headlined by the heavyweight fight between Brock Lesnar and Junior Dos Santos, and airs live on pay-per-view from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
