The UFC has cut another fighter following UFC Fight Night 24, as MMAWeekly.com reports that middleweight Mario Miranda is out of the organization after his loss to Aaron Simpson.
The loss was Miranda's third in four appearances in the UFC. After suffering his first career loss to Gerald Harris by TKO in his UFC debut last March, Miranda picked up his 12th career win with a dominant TKO win over former UFC Middleweight Title challenger David Loiseau.
However, Miranda then dropped back to back decisions to Demian Maia and Simpson, leading to this release. He joins Ultimate Fighter 11 runner-up Kris McCray as fighters cut following the March 26 event in Seattle.
Penick's Analysis: This is another one that isn't entirely surprising. It was only his second straight loss, and they were both by decision, but they weren't the most exciting fights and when he was only 1-3 this was a likely result. Like a lot of fighters that get cut, he'll have a chance to get back with a few wins outside of the organization, but this is not all that surprising.
