A heavyweight bout between the two most recent victims of Stefan Struve, Sean McCorkle and Christian Morecraft, is headed to UFC Fight Night 24 in Seattle, according to a report from Ariel Helwani at MMAFighting.com.
McCorkle's loss to Struve at UFC 124 earlier this month was the first of his eleven fight MMA career. The former super heavyweight made his UFC debut in his home state of Indiana in September, submitting Mark Hunt in the first round to move his record to 10-0 at the time.
Morecraft hasn't fought since getting knocked out by Struve at UFC 117 in August. The loss, in his UFC debut, was also the first of his career. The 24-year-old had finished six straight fights prior to getting the call up to the UFC.
UFC Fight Night 24 is expected to air on Spike TV, headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
Penick's Analysis: Both McCorkle and Morecraft had near finishes of Struve before being finished themselves, though Morecraft delivered much more of a beating before getting brutally knocked out. This is probably a "win or go home" fight for both fighters, as it would mean consecutive losses in the Octagon. With the way both fighters have finished fights in their respective careers, it should be an entertaining and quick fight for the fans in Seattle.
