"Making three belts come true is hard. Of course he wants to. But I will tell you this. I think he will have no belts by the end of the year and they will forget him. To this day, nobody has ever conquered three different belts, so that's his goal. I don't see Rafael dos Anjos losing to him. A fight is a fight and you should always respect your opponent, but that's how I see it. By the end of the year, I will have the belt back, too. That's a fact."
-Jose Aldo talks to Combate in Brazil about taking back his title from Conor McGregor, and why the Irishman won't accomplish his multi-division title goals (translated by Lucas Rezende at BloodyElbow.com).
Penick's Analysis: Aldo might get his second fight with McGregor this year if McGregor fails against dos Anjos, but outside of that happening, it's entirely possible that fight never comes his way again. Should McGregor win the Lightweight Title and move up to go after the Welterweight Title, it's hard to see him dropping all the way back down to the featherweight limit again. Aldo will have a chance to get the Featherweight Title back in that scenario, but absent a win over McGregor, that accomplishment would be a little tarnished. Unfortunately for Aldo, it's McGregor's world right now, and until that's taken away, Aldo might be left without getting that rematch.
