After beating Cat Zingano in a record 14 seconds on Saturday night, Ronda Rousey expressed her interest in fighting either Holly Holm or Bethe Correia next. She didn't mention Cris "Cyborg" Justino.
Asked about that fight in an interview with Ariel Helwani for the post-show on Fox Sports Live, Rousey said if Cyborg wants to make 135 lbs. and get to the UFC, then they can talk about that fight.
"She's not in the UFC," Rousey said when asked about fighting Cyborg. "If she'd like to come to the UFC and fight at '35, then yes, I would."
Beyond that, Rousey downplayed Cyborg's quick win over Charmaine Tweet on Friday night, saying she wasn't impressed with the Invicta Champ's quick win. It came in the following exchange with Helwani:
Helwani: "You know she won yesterday?"
Rousey: "Against some chick that I beat, [in] my second pro fight ever in 40 seconds?"
Helwani: "So not impressed?"
Rousey: "Not really."
Penick's Analysis: I completely understand not wanting to give Cyborg any concessions to make that fight happen, and I'm fine with Rousey insisting Cyborg make the weight to make that fight happen, but it just has to happen. Holm's not ready, Correia hasn't really fought anyone of note, and the most qualified contender on a win streak right now is Miesha Tate (again). The Cyborg fight is the one that makes the most sense, and it's the fight that people want to see. It should happen, plain and simple.
