Canadian welterweight Jordan Mein has a new opponent for the April 19 UFC on Fox 11 event in Orlando.
The UFC announced on Thursday that he'll now face Hernani Perpetuo on the card. He had originally been scheduled to meet Santiago Ponzinibbio, and no reason was given for Ponzinibbio's removal.
Mein hits the cage for the first time in 2014, and almost one year to the day of his last fight in the UFC. After making an impression in his UFC debut win over Dan Miller last March, Mein made a quick turnaround to fight Matt Brown at UFC on Fox 7. The two had a highly entertaining brawl, but it ended in Mein suffering a TKO loss early in the second round.
Perpetuo signed with the UFC last fall, but will finally make his UFC debut on this card. The Shooto Brazil vet has won seven straight fights into this event, and is 9-1 with one no contest in his last 11 fights.
UFC on Fox 11 is headlined by the five round heavyweight bout between Travis Browne and Fabricio Werdum.
