Could Brock Lesnar be returning to the UFC? That's the question hitting the MMA world this week, and UFC President Dana White kind of addressed it during a media scrum on Thursday.
Asked if rumors were true and Lesnar was in town in Las Vegas this week to discuss a potential return, White deflected while feigning ignorance.
"Really?" White said when asked if the rumors were true (transcribed by USA Today). "I don't know. I honestly don't know."
Asked again, White reiterated: "Honestly. I don't know."
Lesnar, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion and current pro wrestler in the WWE, hasn't fought since a loss to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141 in December of 2011.
Penick's Analysis: It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Lesnar come back for a one off fight, maybe even a few if they were spread out. He's a competitor at heart, and he's had a lot of time away from the sport to heal up and return if he wants to return. He's worked sparingly in 2012 and 2013 in the WWE, so he's likely had time to work on things if he's wanted to do just that. At this stage, there's not much to work with, but if he wants to return, the UFC is going to oblige him.
