The final ratings have come in for last Saturday's UFC on Fox 9 card from Sacramento, and the show drew a national rating of 1.8 with 2.8 million viewers.
That makes the event the least viewed of the five UFC events during NFL season on Fox, which have typically gotten a heavier push and more visibility. This particular event didn't have as strong of a push, though, and suffered numerous injury removals as well.
The show marked a middle of the road rating for UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson, who headlined two of the other three Fox events in 2013 as well. He first headlined in January, drawing his best rating as a Fox headliner, but his July bout with John Moraga drew 18% fewer viewers than this past Saturday's card.
Penick's Analysis: The numbers aren't entirely surprising, even if they're a bit disappointing. The card just didn't get as big of a push on Fox as previous NFL season cards. Additionally, as has been talked about a few times this week, I think we're seeing an across the board effect from the Fox Sports 1 move that a number of cards just aren't getting the attention or recognition from the casual fanbase.
