"Just like any other fight, I want to go in there and get the finish. I want to go out there and shine and show the world what I can do. [I want to] prove myself right on what I can do. There's no better person to do that against than Anderson Silva. I went in there last time trying to do that and I don't think I'll be happy if I can't finish this fight... I still feel like I have everything to lose in this fight. Like I said before, I need to win this fight to solidify me as champion. I want go on and achieve a lot of the other long-term goals I have in this sport. To do that I need to win this next fight."

-UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman discussed what he needs to do in his rematch with Anderson Silva at UFC 168 and what's at stake for him during a media conference call for the event (transcribed by BloodyElbow.com).

Penick's Analysis: Weidman showed that he's got the power to put anyone away in that first fight with Silva, and he's got to do whatever he can to put a stamp on that first win. It's going to be harder this time around; Silva's not going to overlook him or disrespect him as much as he did in July, because he knows what happened there too. He understands what he did to allow it to happen as well, so Weidman's got to fire back and take this fight to him even further next week. If Weidman defeats Silva a second time, and finishes him in both fights, it's going to be the clear passing of the guard at middleweight, and will send Weidman into 2014 as the man to beat.
