Almost a year after making his UFC debut on a week's notice in the main event at UFC on Fuel 9, Ilir Latifi will get his second bout in the Octagon this March.
The UFC announced on Thursday morning that Latifi will take on Cyrille Diabate at a UFC Fight Night event on March 8 in London, which is headlined by the light heavyweight bout between Alexander Gustafsson and Jimi Manuwa.
It was Gustafsson whom Latifi replaced on that UFC on Fuel 9 event in Sweden, as Gustafsson was ruled medically ineligible to compete after suffering a cut in training the week before the fight. A teammate of Gustafsson, Latifi stepped in to face Gegard Mousasi, losing a decision.
Diabate has appeared seven times now inside the Octagon, posting a 4-3 mark in that time. He was defeated by Manuwa in his last outing, a TKO loss due to injury after the first round of their bout in London in February.
