Georges St-Pierre wouldn't go into detail on the personal issues on his mind Saturday night after a rough fight with Johny Hendricks, but it was clearly distressing him and he was adamant he needed some time away to deal with it.
A report from TMZ.com on Monday alleges that the UFC Welterweight Champion has two serious problems taking him out of MMA mentally, but at least one has already been denied.
The first regards St-Pierre's father, who TMZ reports is ill and dying, while the second states that St-Pierre impregnated a woman, and she's wanting to keep it while he supposedly doesn't want her to have the child.
As far as his father being ill, St-Pierre's sister Myriam told French-Canadian site LaPresse.com that it's simply not true.
"My father is going very well!" she said (translated by Google). "We get lots of calls and this rumor has to stop. It makes us pain."
"I do not know where this rumor came from, but this is wrong."
However, Myriam St-Pierre would not comment on the possibility that the other reported issue was accurate.
Penick's Analysis: This is the problem St-Pierre faces by trying to keep things private but leaving just enough to get people digging. Had he come straight out and explained what it was, he controls the narrative; unfortunately, there will be allegations and reports like this trying to find out what's going on until it's been parsed out. Obviously it's something big to have him in the state he was in Saturday night, but until we hear from St-Pierre himself on anything these are only allegations and can't be necessarily backed up right now.
