In just over two weeks, UFC on Fox 8 will emanate from Seattle, Wash., but in the last 24 hours the event has been hit with several changes to the card. First, Matt Mitrione got injured, taking him and Brendan Schaub off the card. Then, welterweight Siyar Bahadurzada got hurt, followed by lightweight Bobby Green, and they were replaced by Bobby Voelker and Tim Means, respectively.
Now, Spencer Fisher has suffered an injury, taking him out of his return fight against Yves Edwards on the card. Fisher hadn't competed since a decision loss to Sam Stout in June of last year, and had been leaning towards retirement before deciding to return. Now, his future's definitely in question once again.
Edwards will remain on the card on short notice, hoping to bounce back from a loss to Isaac Vallie-Flagg in February by split decision. He's alternated wins and losses over his last six fights, and he'll try to keep that pattern together when he takes on Daron Cruickshank.
The Ultimate Fighter Live season competitor won his first two fights in the UFC, putting on a great performance that ended with a head kick KO of Henry Martinez in his second appearance. However, he was beaten by John Makdessi in his last outing in March, losing a decision at UFC 158.
UFC on Fox 8 is headlined by the Flyweight Championship bout between Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson and John Moraga.
