"[Anderson] Silva has a fight coming up on July 6, he's fighting Chris Weidman. Many people think this is a very serious threat to his record and his title and everything else. But if he gets past this test with Weidman, we could see this [Jon Jones] super fight this year."

Penick's Analysis: It's not a crazy idea, and even though we've heard this before, it could legitimately happen this year. Jones still wants to fight once more in the light heavyweight division to set his title defense record, but once he does that, the fight with Silva will make a lot of sense. So if Silva defeats Weidman in July, and Jones can return by August (which he just might), then Jones-Silva to close out 2013 could be workable. Don't dismiss it yet; we'll have to see what happens with Jones and his next fight first.
