A fight between Brazilian bantamweights Yuri Alcantara and Marcos Vinicius is headed to UFC on FX 8, according to a report from Brazilian outlet SporTV.
Alcantara enters the May 18 event off a no contest in January, coming when he was docked for strikes to the back of the head of Pedro Nobre. However, the strikes didn't seem to hit the back of the head, and Nobre appeared to be embellishing the effects. Because of that, Nobre ultimately was cut from the UFC despite that being his first fight in the organization.
Vinicius hopes to bounce back from a loss in his last fight, which saw him get knocked out by Johnny Bedford. That snapped a four-fight winning streak, which included his UFC debut last June.
UFC on FX 8 is headlined by the middleweight bout between Vitor Belfort vs. Luke Rockhold.
This article has been updated to reflect the accurate event, as it was previously listed for UFC on Fuel 10.
