The next UFC Flyweight Championship bout is in danger of not taking place this April at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale event, according to a report from MMAJunkie.com.
Per the report, NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer said he's been informed by UFC officials that the fight between Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson and John Moraga may not take place as planned on the April 13 event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
However, while the fight may not be taking place, there's no word on exactly why that is, and neither the UFC nor Johnson gave any comment on the matter. For now, the bout is still scheduled, but an injury or something else may not allow the bout to happen.
Penick's Analysis: It's not yet a definitive "this fight is off" statement, but it's likely an injury has been suffered by one of the competitors, and they may be awaiting word on its severity. For now there's no use speculating, but it would be unfortunate for that TUF Finale card if the fight isn't taking place.
Update: The bout is now officially off, as it was reported on UFC Tonight on Fuel TV Tuesday night that Johnson has suffered an injury, taking him out of the fight.
