Jose Aldo's manager tried to throw a wrench in the UFC's plans earlier this month, telling UFC President Dana White that they didn't believe Anthony Pettis deserved to fight Aldo for the UFC Featherweight Championship.
This came despite the bout having already been announced for an event on August 3, and it led to some strong comments from White Saturday night after UFC 157. He claimed that Aldo was refusing to fight Pettis, and if it continued that way it wouldn't end well for the Featherweight Champion.
Well, it appears that message got across, as White revealed on Monday night during a MetroPCS fan chat that Aldo has changed his stance. White subsequently followed that up with a simple Tweet:
The fight is once again on for August, as White said Aldo has accepted the fight officially, and the two will square off for Aldo's Featherweight Title.
Penick's Analysis: There was no question White would win out on this. It just didn't make sense for Aldo or his camp to remain steadfast against the Pettis fight. It could be a big fight for each of them, both financially and professionally, and it's a fight that is going to inspire a lot of excitement in fans come this August.
