The UFC handed out $50,000 bonuses to four fighters on Saturday night for their performances at UFC on Fox 6, with main event fighters Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson and John Dodson joining Anthony Pettis and Ryan Bader for "Fight Night" honors.
Johnson and Dodson took the bonuses for the event's "Fight of the Night," putting on a competitive and exciting five-round fight for the Flyweight Championship. Incumbent Champ Johnson ultimately had his hand raised, surviving some bad spots in the first two rounds and a competitive third to take over in the fourth and fifth.
Pettis took home the "Knockout of the Night" award, besting some worthy candidates like Ricardo Lamas and T.J. Grant from the night's card. However, Pettis' vicious body kick to stop Donald Cerrone - handing Cerrone the first striking stoppage loss of his career - gave him the honors on his birthday.
Ryan Bader came up with a surprising submission win over Vladimir Matyushenko, and took home the "Submission of the Night" award as a result. In just 50 seconds, Bader knocked Matyushenko down, locked up what appeared to be an inverted head and arm choke, and forced the longtime veteran to tap. Not only did it net him a bonus, it earned him a record as well, as it was announced as the fastest submission win in the history of the UFC's light heavyweight division.
