"I'm very confident and very happy [to get the rematch]. I've been waiting for this fight for two and a half years and I'm ready to prove to myself that I'm better than what I was and to solidify in my mind that that night was a mistake. I'm a completely different fighter now. He's going to have to adjust to a whole new fighter. I mean, he's gotten way better himself. It's been awhile, he's trained a lot, but I think I've redefined myself in these last couple of years. I'm a completely different fighter, I'm going to fight him completely different than what I did."
-Rory MacDonald talks to MMAFightCorner.com about getting his rematch against Carlos Condit.
Penick's Analysis: MacDonald wouldn't have asked for the rematch if he didn't think he could produce a different outcome. It's been a two and a half years since they last fought, and will be nearly three years between fights when they meet again. Given the fact that MacDonald was only 20-years-old at the time of their first fight, it's reasonable to believe he's evolved his game more than Condit has in that same time period. That makes a rematch extremely intriguing, because the fight was close before the third round finish in 2010. MacDonald thinks he's a "completely different fighter," and he'll get a chance to prove that come March.
