The UFC's return to Japan will feature a number of highly entertaining fights, and in the night's headliner, a former Pride superstar will head back to Japan. The UFC announced on Wednesday night that Wanderlei Silva will take on Brian Stann in a light heavyweight bout in the UFC on Fuel 8 main event at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. The event will take place on March 3, 2013, airing live in the U.S. on March 2.
In addition to that fight, the UFC confirmed previously reported bouts in Stefan Struve vs. Mark Hunt and Diego Sanchez vs. Takanori Gomi. A number of other fights have been confirmed as well, with Dong Hyun Kim vs. Siyar Bahadurzada topping the remaining matchups.
"After an amazing event last February, we're excited to bring the UFC back to Japan for the second year in a row,” said UFC President Dana White in a press release this week. “Japan has such a big fan base that we knew we couldn't stay away for too long. I can't wait to get back to Japan in March!"
