"The two champs fighting each other, I would not be disappointed, I think it would be great [but] I don't think they should do it. I think Anderson is way too big, lengthwise and everything for Georges St-Pierre. I don't see [him] doing very good in that fight at all, I can see him getting really hurt actually and he's been getting kinda beat up in every fight a bit. He's been a good champion and everything but I don't think it's a good career move. That's up to them, it's none of my business, but if they have it I'll definitely watch it."
-Nick Diaz's trainer Cesar Gracie talks to MiddleEasy.com and gives his thoughts on the potential superfight between George St-Pierre and Anderson Silva (transcribed by MMAMania.com.
Penick's Analysis: This is an opposite take on this matchup from what we heard from Rashad Evans this week, and both are definitely possibilities. This is an interesting matchup because there are very different ways to look at it. On one hand, St-Pierre's got the wrestling game to give Silva fits and do damage on the ground. On the other, Silva's got the striking power and incredible ability to impose his will in fights to obliterate anyone, St-Pierre included. Given St-Pierre's propensity for poor reactions to big shots, it's a dangerous proposal. But I think St-Pierre's going to be more competitive than that against Silva, and I don't think it's a bad career move. Still, look where the comments are coming from; Gracie doesn't want the fight to happen, because he wants to see Diaz fight GSP. Having GSP-Silva take precedence pushes the possibility of that fight back even further.
