"I'm going to do it all. I don't like to go in there saying I'm going to do one thing. I'm a mixed martial artist and I feel I'm well rounded enough to take the fight wherever it needs to be. I think I can stand with pretty much anybody, I think I can wrestle with anybody and I feel I can compete on the floor with jiu jitsu with anybody. He's definitely a tall task in an opponent, but I just think fighting guys at the caliber fights I've had throughout the years has only got me better and I think Jose will do that as well... It's tough to really put any chinks in any of these guys' armor that are at this high level now. I just think I'm going to have to push him and test his mettle. I think that's what I do well, I push the pace and that's what I'm going to have to do in this fight for sure."
-Frankie Edgar talks to MMAFightCorner.com about bringing the fight to Jose Aldo at UFC 156 on Feb. 2.
Penick's Analysis: Edgar's big fight experience gives him a major edge over most of the fighters Aldo has faced thus far in his career. Edgar knows how to win Championships and hold onto them, and he's going to be a very major test for Aldo. The fact that he's never been stopped by anyone - and Gray Maynard came very close twice - means he's likely going to be able to push through any setbacks during the fight and push Aldo deep into the fight. Aldo's gone the distance in a few of his title fights, but Edgar could very well be the toughest opponent he's faced yet, and if the fight goes late Edgar should have a considerable advantage. It's a very interesting fight, and should be an entertaining one on Feb. 2 as well.
