"I think, at the end of the day, it's a business decision. This is a business, and Chael Sonnen is gonna bring it and hype up any single fight he's in. I think Jon Jones, in denying him the fight on eight days notice, made it inevitable that they were gonna have to fight at some point. I think I would have [rather] taken him on an eight days' training camp than on a full training camp, but I'm not Jon Jones. I think Chael has a great opportunity to win this fight, actually. Technically, I see a similar style fight as Anderson Silva. If he wades through it and can make Jon Jones wrestle him, I think he can win that. I think he can do it, but he needs to make it a wrestling match, start to finish."
-Speaking with Spike TV's MMA Uncensored Live, UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture articulates how he believes Chael Sonnen can be successful against Jon Jones next April (transcribed by MMAMania.com.
Penick's Analysis: Sonnen absolutely has to make this a wrestling match, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll succeed even if he does. Jones is the taller, lankier man, and he's got a very good wrestling game of his own. He's neutralized attempts by other fighters to get him to the ground, including another very good wrestler in Rashad Evans. Sonnenis giving up size, reach, punching power, and a lot more in this fight, and though wrestling alone may be his only hope, the chances of him succeeding start to finish against Jones are very slim.
