In addition to announcing the on-sale date for tickets to The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale this December, the UFC on Tuesday also announced five more fights alongside the headliner between Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson.
Coming to the Dec. 15 card in Las Vegas will be welterweight bouts pitting Mike Pyle against James Rustam "Tiger" Khabilov in his UFC debut against TUF veteran Vinc Pichel, and bantamweight bouts in Reuben Duran against TUF Brasil's Hugo Viana and TUF's Johnny Bedford against TUF Brasil's Marcos "Vina" Vinicius.
The event will also be rounded out by the welterweight tournament finals from the currently running season of The Ultimate Fighter, along with other fighters from the season on the undercard.
Penick's Analysis: All of these matchups are fights to be expected of these TUF Finale events. Pyle-Head is a bout that definitely could be a part of any pay-per-view or FX card, though were it on a pay-per-view event it would have likely been an FX preliminary card bout anyway. It's a solid fight for the welterweight division, but not a massive seller. The rest of the fights are TUF vets and new UFC fighters, outside of the main event, obviously. But this is a solid start to the event, which will be the second night in a row the UFC runs an event on FX, with the Australia card airing on FX in the U.S. on Friday, Dec. 14.
