Despite losses in five of his last six UFC bouts, Joey Beltran is getting at least one more shot in the UFC. The organization revealed on Tuesday that Beltran will take on Anthony Perosh at UFC on FX 6 in Australia this December.
Beltran was released in January after a 1-4 stretch in the heavyweight division, but came back after one win outside of the organization, debuting in the light heavyweight division against James Te Huna. He lost that bout by decision, and now must get past Perosh to keep his spot in the organization.
Perosh hopes to bounce back from a vicious loss in his last bout, having fallen victim to a record-tying knockout against a debuting Ryan Jimmo at UFC 149. The seven second one-punch knockout halted a three fight winning streak for Perosh.
UFC on FX 6 will be headlined by the "Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes" coaches bout between Ross Pearson and George Sotiropoulos, airing live in North America on Friday, December 14 with the time difference.
