The hype for Brock Lesnar's potential return to the UFC is being slowed down already, as a report from Dave Meltzer at The Wrestling Observer suggests initial talks between Lesnar and UFC President Dana White were rocky.
The two met following UFC 146 on Saturday night to discuss a potential return, and Meltzer stated that things didn't go as well as hoped.
"We don't have any details other than the meeting did not go well," the report read, with Meltzer further speculating, "If Lesnar being at UFC is mentioned on Raw, then I'd guess it's [a] WWE angle. If it's not, then it's anyone's guess what the game being played is, other than there is a game being played."
Where that leaves things remained to be seen, but it's something that will be followed as long as further developments are made.
Penick's Analysis: Depending on what happens on tonight's WWE program, this could all be Lesnar and the WWE trying to use the UFC return as part of their angle. If that's the case, and it was brought to White's attention that was the case, then it would make sense for the meeting to "not go well." If Lesnar's legitimately looking to return to fight, White may be open to things, but using the UFC as a piece of the WWE's storytelling isn't likely to go over well with them.
