Finally (the Rock has come BACK to...) we had one of our champions dethroned. Just as a legend regained past form at UFC 123 when B.J. Penn knocked out Matt Hughes in twenty seconds, so did a legend of our own as former champion, and one of the top all-around performers in Torch Contest history, Kubi captured the Prediction Title from longtime defending champ Eric Marchment. Kubi's 8-3 mark was tied for a contest-best and it was two picks better than Marchment's 6-5. Congrats to Kubi for climbing the mountain once again! He moves on to UFC 124 to tangle with Drew Rothstein, who emerged from a glut of predictors at 8-3 with his six correct rounds/methods. Congrats to Mr. Rothstein and good luck on your impending title shot!

On the betting side, it was the status quo yet again. Despite having an extra week to prepare after his title shot was called off at UFC 122, Casey Vacarro was unable to unseat Betting Champ Cambo "Rambo" Nelson. Nelson is quietly putting together an all-timer of a title reign and gets what appears on paper to be a bit of a break for his next title defense. Chris "The Walrus" Wallner, a relative newcomer, thumped the rest of the betting field, turning in a perfect sheet in winning the pool by over $800 more than his closest challenger. He gets the next crack at Nelson, and, who knows, maybe some beginners luck is what it'll take to get the belt from around his waste. Full results follow:

Performer of the Night: Kubi. With an honorable mention to Chris Wallner for his betting picks, Kubi reclaimed the Prediction title and had a top-5 finish in the betting pool.

Goat of the Night: I'll take the field here. On a card that was expected to be full of easy-to-predict, one-sided fights, nearly half of our predictors were sub-.500 and a whopping ten (TEN!) people lost every cent in the betting contest. Congrats to all of us. We earned this one.
