The bout between Fedor Emelianenko and Dan Henderson is inching closer to fruition, and MMAWeekly.com reports that the two have agreed on a weight for the bout.

Though no contracts have been signed and there are still details to be worked out, the two sides have agreed to a catchweight of 220 pounds for the fight, which would make it a feature attraction bout on a late July event, expected to be on pay-per-view.

Fedor will attempt to halt a two fight losing skid that began after a nearly decade-long unbeaten streak. After his losses to Fabricio Werdum and Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva, "The Last Emperor" may be nearing the end of his career, but a big win over Henderson could put things back on track and keep him around for awhile.

Henderson, meanwhile, will look to continue the momentum built on his last two wins, knockouts of both Renato "Babalu" Sobral and Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante. The longtime Pride and UFC star got off to a rough start in his Strikeforce stint with his loss to Jake Shields, but he's now looking as good as ever at 40-years-old, and this fight with Fedor will be one of the biggest of his career.

Penick's Analysis: A 220 lb. catchweight is fine. Fedor's nearing the end of his career, and though it would be great to see him attempt a run at 205 lbs., learning how to properly cut weight when he's never done it in his career may not be the best thing for him. At any rate, this could be an attempt to keep his weight slightly down from his last few fights, and if he feels good here, maybe he'll give it a go at light heavyweight. This should be a great fight, and it makes a lot of sense for both fighters.
