Tickets for Strikeforce's April 9 event at the Valley View Casino Center (formerly the San Diego Sports Arena) go on sale this week, as the organization has officially announced their full four fight card, airing live on Showtime.
Headlined by the Welterweight Championship bout between Nick Diaz and Paul Daley, the card will also feature a Lightweight Championship bout between Gilbert Melendez and Tatsuya Kawajiri, a light heavyweight feature fight between Gegard Mousasi and Mike Kyle and a a lightweight fight between Shinya Aoki and Lyle Beerbohm.
Strikeforce Insider newsletter subscribers have access to a presale for the event beginning tomorrow, Thursday March 10, while tickets go on sale to the general public this Saturday, March 12. Tickets start at $25.
"Daley has great stand-up but he likes to talk a lot of (expletive) and I'm not really impressed with him as a mixed martial artist," said Diaz in the organization's release. “We'll see how it goes and see how he does on April 9. Let's see if he can walk the walk. I seriously doubt it."
"I am a striker – there is no secret about that," said Daley. "I like to knock people out quickly and aggressively. No one in MMA hits like me. I'm faster and more explosive than Diaz. Diaz doesn't have good wrestling. There is no way he'Il stand with me. I'll smash him within three rounds. I will knock him out."
