CBS is airing a commercial promoting the Nov. 7 Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers MMA fight during NFL football game this afternoon.

The short commercial shows Fedor jogging in a snowy forrest, lifting weights, shadow boxing, and then stepping up face-to-face with Rogers in a gym. The narrator says: "He's a man of mystery who trains in the frozen tundra of Siberia. Fedor Emelianko, he's the number one ehavyweight mixed martial arts fighter in the world - and he's taking on undefeated knockout artist Brett Rogers... Live! Free! Only on CBS November 7th!"

Keller's Analysis: This gives Fedor the best crossover mainstream exposure he's ever had. I suspect the Internet searches for Fedor's name among more casual fans skeptical of the claim that he's the top heavyweight in the world will be high today as a result of this ad. Just to add a little credibility, although I admit time is limited in this short ad, a few words about Fedor's international fight experience or images of his name ranked above Brock Lesnar and Randy Couture on screen captures or magazine ranking pages would have sent a message to fans who think major league MMA equals UFC and no one good fights outside of UFC.
