Gegard Mousasi will have one final fight in Strikeforce before a likely transition to the UFC, as he'll take on Mike Kyle on January 12 in Oklahoma City.
This is actually the fourth time Strikeforce has attempted to book this fight. It was initially slated for April of 2011 on the Nick Diaz vs. Paul Daley headlined card, but Kyle suffered a hand injury that took him out of the bout. They then rebooked it for the September 2011 event, but Mousasi pulled out that time around.
It was scheduled once more for the March 2012 event in Columbus, headlined by Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate, but Kyle suffered an injury and Mousasi withdrew from the event as well. Mousasi hasn't fought at all in 2012, while Kyle's sole appearance resulted in a no contest after Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante failed his drug test out of their May fight.
