Early in the first round of what would be a 25-minute fight against Daniel Cormier on Saturday night, Josh Barnett broke his hand with a punch. He appeared to be in excruciating pain once the fight was completed, but he battled through the injury and fought on for all 25 minutes.
Of course, he was beaten rather soundly in most of the rounds, and ended up losing the decision in the finals of the Strikeforce Heavyweight World Grand Prix, but he stuck in there and did as best he could with the injury throughout the fight.
On Sunday, he Tweeted out a picture of the X-ray, and it's easy to see why he was in such pain afterward. Still, it was a commendable effort considering all that Cormier was throwing and landing during the fight. Kudos to Barnett for trying to fight on despite this broken bone. Check out the x-ray below:
