James Irvin vs. Houston Alexander
Wednesday night and “ We are liveeeee.” As Buffer gets ready to introduce James Irvin and Houston Alexander, And boy do I hope that everyone is right when they say this thing is going to be a slugfest. Houston looks like he was sculpted out of clay, with what looks like a new tattoo.
Round 1
James Irvin comes out and Superman punch and that ends it. Irvin jumps on Alexander and Steve Mazzagatti stops it. WOW, Houston recovered quickly to argue with the stoppage, but to no avail. Turns out to be just that a non-plural slugfest.
James Irvin defeats Houston Alexander by TKO at :08 of Round 1
Houston claims that his kids have hit him harder, so I guess he’s been knocked out a bunch at home. As Irvin wants to keep it going in the parking lot, and rightfully so. Either way a bull ride would have been more entertaining than that.
Kurt Pellegrino vs. Nate Diaz
Round 1
Nate Diaz looks angry as usual and both fighters come out, and Pellegrino takes him down. Pellegrino gets back control and is delivering so hard shots. Kurt Pellegrino attempts a darce choke, but Diaz escapes. Now Pellegrino traps both arms and is landing six consecutive shots to the head of Diaz, who is bleeding pretty badly. Kurt is dominating this fight. Diaz really needs to hit the weight room, because he has no power to do anything. In the clinch up against the fence, Diaz landing some knees. He is keeping the action going as Pellegrino looks to be gathering his air. As the round ends.
My expert judging skills gives Pellegrino the 10-9
Nate Diaz’s eye is swollen pretty badly, as Pellegrino is stinking his jab out there. A nice duck under single leg take down. Diaz is looking for a kimura as the crowd who sounds intelligent is cheering, because they know. Pellegrino gets his back as they stand, and a huge flip by Diaz trying to shake him loose. Does just that, only to land in a triangle choke and Nate Diaz submits Kurt Pellegrino by Triangle choke, perfectly executed. And starts cheering and flexing before Pellegrino even taps.
Nate Diaz defeats Kurt Pellegrino by submission at 3:06 of Round 2
Tim Boetsch vs. Matt Hamill
Matt Hamill comes out to cheers, but how does he know that. Looks like he has recovered from his injury and ready to do business. Tim Boetsch looking to win another after dropping David Heath like a sack of marbles.
Round 1
Matt Hamill starts by throwing a couple of jabs in Tim’s face, now a nice double leg and takes him down. In side control and not throwing punch just looking for something to do. Tim Boetsch forces a scramble and gets him to half guard. The men get back to there feet and start throwing kicks at each other. Hamill again pumping that jab in the face of Tim Boetsch. Boetsch’s gut looks like Chuck Liddell’s hanging over his trunks. The round ends with a couple of punches from Matt Hamill
Matt Hamill 10-9
Round 2
Matt Hamill comes out with blood coming from his lip; it is a fairly bad cut. Straight kick and a jab from Boetsch. Matt Hamill again looking terrible in his cardio department, But nothing unusual about that. Now Matt Hamill is getting the back of Tim Boetsch and is raining down some serious punch. Tim flips over and not even protecting himself and the referee steps in and ends it.
Matt Hamill defeats Tim Boetsch by TKO at 1:25 of Round 2
Thiago Alves vs. Karo Parisyan
Round 1
They come out and touch gloves, and a hard leg kick from Alves. Now a huge double under hook take down from Karo Parisyan. Parisyan gets to mount only to get kicked off by Thiago, who is back to his feet. Parisyan is looking very soft a lot of flab on his body. Another leg kick, which is grabbed by Karo, but didn’t get the take down. Dancing around now throwing periodically, a takedown attempt stuffed by Thiago. Body kick and a jab by Alves. Well based off of the takedown I will give the round to Karo.
Karo Parisyan 10-9
Round 2
High kick to start the round off by Karo, and a huge knee by Thiago Alves drops Karo Parisyan and a few punches and Steve Mazzagatti stops it. And Karo is really heated, walking around the ring like a six year old who didn’t get their candy.
Thiago Alves defeats Karo Parisyan by TKO at 0:34 of Round 2
Tommy Speer vs. Anthony Johnson
They come out cirlceing each other, Johnson throwing some kicks. Johnson lands a huge head kicks and is landing at will. Joe Rogan said it best landing from every angle. WOW, couldn’t have been better, I knew that Tommy Speer was a joke. Now this just proved it.

Gray Maynard vs. Frank Edgar
Round 1
Both men come and feeling each other out, and Gray lands a little uppercut. Frankie goes for a single leg and Gray stuffs it. Edgar looking a little hesitate still throwing but looking scared. Now pressuring some more Frankie moving Gray back to the cage and throwing some body shots. Maynard lands a hard right, and a now jab. Nice head kick landed by Frankie, now a huge double – leg takedown by Gray Maynard. Now controlling the back is Gray, in the standing position. Takes him down and lands in the guard. Edgar scrambles and gets back to his feet, only to take a shot from Maynard. Gray Maynard’s striking looked pretty good in that round.
Gray Maynard 10-9
Round 2
Maynard fakes the shot and throws a right hand that lands pretty well. Another fake shot and hook from Gray, who you can tell is well prepared for this fight. Gray’s double leg again takes down Frankie, and his corner is yelling at him to wall walk. Which is successfully done. A nice an uppercut and hook combination from Edgar. OH, huge judo toss from Frankie Edgar and then Gray Maynard get right up. That should have scored some points. WOW, a hard shot that drives Frankie hard to the matt, which puts Gray in side control. Edgar has a Kimura, but nothing will come of it as the round ends.
Gray Maynard based off the last huge takedown. 20-18
Round 3
A hard right hand landed by Gray and deep shot by Maynard. Lots of scrambling from there leaves both men on there feet. Frankie grabs a leg and walks Gray Maynard across the ring and loses it. Gray drops down and grabs the legs of Frankie and lifts him high overhead and slams him down. Frankie battles his way up again, only to be lifted high again and dropped on his chest. Gray trying to get hooks in gives an opportunity for Edgar to get up. And again picks him up high and drops him down, that’s got to be frustrating for Frankie Edgar. Some up kicks from Edgar, but Maynard is just going to lie on him until the bell.
Gray Maynard with a decision 30-27, is how I see it.
Gray Maynard defeats Frankie Edgar by Unanimous decision ( 30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Joe Lauzon vs. Kenny Florian
Round 1
Both men come out and no touch of the gloves, but feeling out process begins. Lauzon with a nice sweep and Florian starts elbowing the stop and back of the head. Which referee Herb Dean stops the action. Now back up and going and a huge body kick from Ken-Flo land and he is in Joe’s guard and landing some hard shots. Back to his feet Joe Lauzon over powers the skinny and weak Ken-Flo to the ground. Kenny looking to get away and now Lauzon in side control. Lots of action in this 1st round, and Joe is looking for a knee bar, scramble and back to there feet. A shot by Kenny and now has the back of Joe.
That round would have to go to Kenny Florian 10-9
Round 2
Kenny comes out throwing a couple of kicks, one to the body and one to the head. Another body kick, and both men look to be slowing down quite considerably. Now Kenny in full mount and is landing shots to Joe, now elbows. Joe bucks him to side control, now back to mount. Joe doesn’t look like he can take much more of this, with a very frustrated look. Lauzon will kick him off of full mount only to let him get right back on. Joe is covering up very well, not many of these shots are landing. But now Joe is not doing anything to have Herb Dean let it continue. As Heab Dean stops the fight.
Kenny Florian defeats Joe Lauzon by TKO at 3:28 of Round 2
