Carlos Condit to fight in the UFC again?

Former UFC welterweight champion Carlos Condit wants to fight again. He hasn’t fought since getting submitted by Demian Maia in the first round at UFC on FOX 21. That was thirteen months ago. In a tweet to UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby, “The Natural Born Killer” stated he wanted to fight in either December or January.

Grocke’s Point of View: This makes me very happy. Carlos Condit is one of the UFC’s most popular fighters and his fights are must see. Sure, he’s lost five of his last seven fights, but take a look at the names of the fighters he lost to. They are some of the best welterweights in the world. While a rematch against Robbie Lawler probably makes the most sense, just seeing Condit in the cage again regardless of opponent is enough for me.

Lima to defend title against MacDonald in January

Douglas Lima will defend his welterweight title against Rory MacDonald January 20 at the Inglewood Forum. Lima is currently on a two fight win streak. He beat Andrey Koreshkov at Bellator 164 recapturing the welterweight, he then successfully defended it by defeating Lorenz Larkin at Bellator 180. Rory MacDonald earned the title shot by submitting Paul Daley in his debut for the organization at Bellator 179.

Grocke’s POV: I love this fight and can’t wait to see it!

ONE announces super fight for return to Manila

The main event for the November 10 card in Manila will feature current ONE lightweight champion Eduard Folayang defending his title against current featherweight title holder Martin Nguyen. The Manlla card will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.

Chuck Liddell comments on Jon Jones

The former UFC light heavyweight champion was on the MMA Hour where he spoke about the latest Jon Jones USADA violation. Liddell is on record saying it seems real obvious with his increase in size. Liddell wonders if maybe he got around the wrong people and the wrong ideas.

“He’s his own worst enemy. And he was such a great fighter, I don’t know why he decided — it seemed like he decided in his off-season that one time to start using steroids. And obviously he’s got his time in court, I guess, still. I don’t know. But it seems real obvious with his increase in size and stuff. But I don’t know that he needed that, and it just seemed like he got maybe around the wrong people, got around the wrong ideas, and decided he wanted to (use PEDs), and now he’s gotten caught. It’s sad.”

Liddell’s full comments can be seen here.
