“He punched himself out the same way he lost in the Ufc there was no learning goin on.. #overpromotion bullshit get off the nuts this the shit I’m talking about Bruce Lee would’ve never lost like that. #realninjashit”

Aaron Pico to fight at Featherweight

Bellator MMA prospect Aaron Pico is moving to featherweight to try and get his first win. Pico made his MMA debut at Bellator NYC where he lost to Zach Freeman via Guillotine Choke.

Pico’s second fight will be against Justin Linn at Bellator 183 on September 23. Justin Linn (7-3) will be making his Bellator debut against Pico. The fight will be in the featherweight division.

Bellator 183 will be headlined by former UFC Champion Benson Henderson vs. Patricky Freire.

John’s Analysis: I have to admit, Bellator is putting together some good cards lately. There are quite a few fights I’m interested in watching. I think Paul Daley vs. Lorenz Larkin has the potential to be a great bout.

Fabricio Werdum says USADA is too strict

In an interview with MMA Fighting former UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum said that the United States Anti-Doping Agency testing is too strict and needs to be improved.

Werdum was asked about Junior dos Santos’ recent suspension by USADA. Dos Santos tested positive for a diuretic and was removed from UFC 215. Werdum took a diplomatic approach and refused to accuse dos Santos of any wrong doing.

“I think it’s a pity that this happened, but we have to wait for the second test,” Werdum said. “We don’t get along because we fought in the past, but there’s no reason to say anything bad about him. That can happen to anyone, to unknowingly take something that is banned. I have no right to say anything about this case. We have to wait for the the second test to find out if he really took something… If he really took something he has to pay for it without fighting for a while, which is a pity.”

Although Werdum would not criticize do Santos, Werdum did give his opinion about USADA’s testing policies.

“I think that this testing is too much, too strict,” Werdum said. “It didn’t have to be that much. It’s one thing to take something to recover faster… I’m not saying steroids, no. What I say is that USADA is too much sometimes. It’s too much. It didn’t need that much. This testing is stricter than the Olympics. I’ve never seen this before. I think it could be better. There are things that you could take that wouldn’t affect your performance, but you would recover faster. We train too hard.”

Werdum is scheduled to fight Derrick Lewis at UFC 216.
