Saturday night at UFC 211, Jessica Andrade challenges Joanna Jedrzejczyk in the co-main event in a Women’s Strawweight Title fight. Current men’s UFC Light Heavyweight Champ Daniel Cormier said on FS1’s “UFC Tonight” this week that Andrade needs to “throw punches with conviction” to beat Jedrzejczyk. “Andrade needs to put the pressure on her,” he said. ” She thinks Joanna has a weak chin. She thinks she can’t defend the takedowns. Andrade needs to move forward. This is a very dangerous opponent for Joanna.”

UFC veteran Kenny Florian said that Jedrzejczyk’s elbows are a key for her. “What makes her so dangerous is when she throws a combination, she’ll throw four or five punches,” he said. “Plus, she uses her elbows when she’s in close. She’ll feel the weight on her and throw the elbow. As soon as she feels her opponent moving forward, she’ll use that sharp elbow to punish her.”

Florian picked Jedrzejczyk to defend her title: “I think she’s just a better striker. She’s more experienced and she’s gone five rounds before. I’m picking the champ to stay the champ.”
