Rafael dos Anjos tells Conor McGregor that if they fought “You would be dead”

Even though their fight didn’t take place, the trash talk between former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael dos Anjos and current UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor has only escalated and hit a new high this week. In a tweet sent out by Dos Anjos, he told McGregor “If you had fought me you wouldn’t be a two division champ, you would be dead.”

This tweet was in response to a statement that McGregor made on a UFC 202 conference call in regards to Dos Anjos’s injury leading up to their fight at UFC 196. “Realistically I should be a two-weight UFC world champion,” McGregor said. “If I fought Rafael dos Anjos, if he didn’t pussy out of that last one and showed up, the shots I cracked Nate with in the first eight minutes would’ve KO’d Rafael dos Anjos stiff. That’s no question.”

Rafael Dos Anjos attempts to get back on the path to reclaim his UFC Lightweight Title against Tony Ferguson at UFC Fight Night on Nov. 5, while Conor McGregor has his rematch with Nate Diaz scheduled for UFC 202 on Aug. 20.

Analysis: It appears as if there is still plenty of bad blood on either side of this argument, and it likely will not be settled in the cage anytime soon given where each man is in their career right now. Dos Anjos took it too far with this tweet and allowed McGregor to get under his skin yet again, and we will have to wait and see what The Notorious One’s response to this latest quarrel is.
