Chad Mendes has been on a significant downslide, going from stoppage losses to Conor McGregor and Frankie Edgar in 2015 into a drug test failure that now has him suspended for the next two years.

Not one to shy away from kicking someone while they’re down, McGregor had to get a shot in when asked about it for his personal site TheMacLife.com.

“I wonder was he on that stuff when we fought,” McGregor commented. “One thing I know for sure though, you can’t put steroids on your chin.”

Penick’s Analysis: Well, fighters failing tests leave themselves open to these types of verbal attacks in response, especially from those they’ve faced in the cage. It’s no worse than anything Michael Bisping’s had to say about his numerous PED-using former foes, and it’s not entirely unwarranted either. Still, that’s likely all he’ll have to say about it until he winds up back in contact with Team Alpha Male.
