Claudia Gadelha may be out up to six months following her decision loss to Joanna Jedrzejczyk in the main event of Friday’s Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale, while two other fighters are facing the same length of time out depending on doctor’s clearance.
Gadelha suffered a thumb injury during the course of her title fight in the night’s main event, and must have it x-rayed to determine whether or not she suffered a fracture. Fernando Bruno and Cezar Ferreira are under the same terms, and must have potential fractures cleared before they can return to action.
The full list of medical suspensions, emailed to MMATorch this week, is below:
-Claudia Gadelha: Must have right thumb x-rayed due to potential fracture or no contest 185 days; minimum suspension 45 days with no contact for 30 days
-Andrew Sanchez: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
-Thiago Tavares: Suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days
-Andrew Holbrook: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
-Fernando Bruno: Must have MRI or x-ray of left knee and requires clearance from orthopedic doctor or no contest 185 days; minimum suspension 30 days with no contact for 45 days
-Josh Stansbury: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days (scalp laceration)
-Cory Hendricks: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days (cut on bridge of nose)
-Cezar Ferreira: Must have left foot x-ray due to potential fracture or no contest 185 days; minimum suspension 45 days with no contact 30 days
-Jake Matthews: Suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days
-Anton Zafir: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
