Alexander Gustafsson will return to action on Sep. 3 for the first time since his loss to Daniel Cormier last year, taking on Jan Blachowicz at the UFC Fight Night event in Hamburg, Germany.
The UFC announced the matchup this week.
Gustafsson, now a two time challenger for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, has missed all of 2016 thus far after a tough loss to Cormier for that belt. He’s lost three of his last four fights going back to an epic war with Jon Jones.
As for Poland’s Blachowicz, he halted a two fight losing streak in April when he defeated Igor Pokrajac in Zagreb, Croatia.
UFC Fight Night Hamburg is the organization’s first ever trip to the city, and it will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Josh Barnett and Andrei Arlovski.
