New UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic brought home a Championship to his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, this week, knocking out Fabricio Werdum in the main event of UFC 198 to capture the belt. After the event, he sent a brief message of encouragement to his hometown team the Cleveland Cavaliers, urging them on in their bid for an NBA Title.

According to a report from TMZ Sports, the love is being reciprocated by the Cavaliers to Miocic, and they’re going to host him as their special guest ahead of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Per the report, they’re planning to honor Miocic during the proceedings tonight.

Penick’s Analysis: Good for them. They’re recognizing one of their own, and he’s there cheering them on in their efforts to get back to the NBA Finals. Miocic deserves the hometown praise, and if getting recognition on that stage is great for him and the UFC.
