The UFC pulled Gegard Mousasi out of a fight with Michael Bisping to put Anderson Silva in that slot, but it appears he’ll remain on the UFC Fight Night 83 card in London.

Mousasi on Sunday posted a photo to his Facebook page with a poster for the event featuring him and Thales Leites, suggesting that’s the fight coming on Feb. 27.

The UFC has made no official announcement on Mousasi’s status for the event, but we’ll likely get confirmation later this week.

If this is the matchup, Leites will be returning for the first time since a decision loss to the aforementioned Bisping in Glasgow in July, a loss which snapped an eight fight winning streak for the one-time UFC Middleweight Title challenger. Mousasi himself hopes to bounce back from a loss to Uriah Hall in the fall.

Penick’s Analysis: It’s a good fight if the UFC is indeed putting it together, and honestly a more sensible matchup than the originally scheduled Mousasi-Bisping bout. Both of the new fights are better and more sensible than that matchup based on recent results, so fans in London have a solid card to look forward to this February.
