The Nevada Athletic Commission handed out medical suspensions to most of the fighters on Saturday’s UFC 194 card, and several fighters could be out up to six months pending clearance for ailments coming out of the event. Included in that list is both of the newly crowned champions in Conor McGregor and Luke Rockhold; McGregor, despite knocking out Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds, has a wrist issue that must be cleared in order for him to return. Rockhold, meanwhile, injured his left foot/ankle area in his win over Chris Weidman, news that isn’t surprising given he was limping around
The full list of suspensions, as emailed to MMATorch on Monday, is below:
-Conor McGregor: Must have x-ray of left wrist, if positive then must be cleared by doctor or no contest until 06/12
-Jose Aldo: Suspended until 02/11, no contact until 01/27
-Luke Rockhold: Must have x-ray of left foot/ankle, if positive then must be cleared by doctor or no contest until 06/12; minimum no contest until 01/12, no contact until 01/03
-Chris Weidman: Must have x-rays of both feet, if positive then must be cleared by doctor or no contest until 06/12; minimum no contest until 02/11, no contact until 01/27
-Yoel Romero: Suspended until 01/12, no contact until 01/03
-Ronaldo Souza: Must have x-ray of left forearm, if positive then must be cleared by doctor or no contest until 06/12; minimum no contest until 01/12, no contact until 01/03
-Gunnar Nelson: Suspended until 01/27, no contact until 01/12 due to nasal bridge laceration
-Jeremy Stephens: Suspended until 01/12, no contact until 01/03
-Urijah Faber: Must have MRI of left knee, x-rays of right ankle and left thumb, if positive then must be cleared by doctor or no contest until 06/12; minimum no contest until 01/27, no contact until 01/12
-Frankie Saenz: Suspended until 01/27, no contact until 01/12
-Tecia Torres: Must have x-ray of left thumb, if positive then must be cleared by doctor or no contest until 06/12; minimum no contest until 01/12, no contact until 01/03
-Jocelyn Lybarger-Jones: Suspended until 01/27, no contact until 01/12
-Colby Covington: Must have CT Scan or MRI of right chest wall, if positive then must be cleared by doctor or no contest until 06/12; minimum no contest until 01/12, no contact until 01/03
-Kevin Lee: Suspended until 01/27, no contact until 01/12
-Joe Proctor: Suspended until 01/12, no contact until 01/03
-Yancy Medeiros: Must have right knee sprain to be cleared by orthopedic doctor or no contest until 06/12; minimum no contest until 01/12, no contact until 01/03 due to left toe pain
-John Makdessi: Must have x-ray of right thumb, if positive then must be cleared by doctor or no contest until 06/12
