Valerie Letourneau says she’s “healing well” after UFC 193 loss, vows to come back strong

Valerie Letourneau is on the mend after her loss to Joanna Jedrzejczyk last week at UFC 193, but she hopped on Instagram on Friday to thank fans for their support and to update her status.

The 32-year-old was defeated by decision, getting beat to the punch through much of the last 15 minutes of the bout, but she put forth a tough effort despite the loss. Now, she’s promising to return stronger following the setback.

Penick’s Analysis: Good to see she’s in solid spirits after the loss. She was a legitimately tough test for Jedrzejczyk, and though she wound up on the wrong end of things, she deserves credit for sticking in there longer than most expected. It showed she’s as competitive as anyone in this field, and she’ll get some opportunities to make a run back at a rematch because of that.
