An intriguing featherweight matchup is heading to UFC Fight Night 81 in Boston this January, as the UFC announced this week that Charles Rosa will take on Jimy Hettes.

Rosa, 29, made his UFC debut on short notice against Dennis Siver last October, and put forth an excellent fight in a losing effort. He got his first UFC win in January, submitting Sean Soriano with a slick D’Arce choke, and he followed that up with a really close split decision loss to Yair Rodriguez at UFC 188 in Mexico City, a fight which earned both a “Fight of the Night” bonus.

Hettes has had equally inconsistent results while putting forth mostly exciting performances. Injuries have continued to plague him, keeping him relatively inactive compared to some others in the division; he’s in need of a victory this time out after suffering his second loss in a row earlier this year, though that came by doctor stoppage when a cauliflower ear burst open during the first round of his bout with Diego Brandao.

UFC Fight Night 81 airs live on Fox Sports 1 on Jan. 17, headlined by the UFC Bantamweight Championship bout between T.J. Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz.
